Vlmfss Tiffany

Tiffany Mark

President

Tiffany Mark brings over a decade of experience in web design, digital strategy, and project management to her role on the VLMFSS Board. She joined the Board after leading the organization’s website redesign in 2023 and was compelled by its unwavering commitment to supporting survivors and advancing social justice.
Tiffany is passionate about applying her skills to support strategic initiatives and enhance systems to help strengthen services for survivors of family violence. Her vision is to help build organizations where people work together with care and purpose, creating real impact. She hopes this kind of work not only supports survivors but also encourages others to get involved in meaningful, values-driven ways.
She is grateful to learn and grow alongside a team of dedicated and compassionate board members, contributing to a culture rooted in equity, trust, and tangible change. Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Tiffany enjoys hiking with friends, travelling with her partner, and spending quality time with her family.

Sairoz Sekhon

Vice President & Treasurer

With over 25 years of dedicated service in the non-profit and public sectors, Sairoz Sekhon brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to social impact. Her career began in the anti-violence sector, where she held various frontline and leadership roles supporting women and children fleeing violence. Her passion for advocacy and systems change led her to serve as Director of the Women’s Transition Housing and Supports Program, overseeing provincial services and funding for survivors of violence.
Currently, Sairoz works in the field of immigration, managing provincial programs that support newcomers to BC. Her collaborative approach and strategic leadership have helped shape inclusive initiatives that foster belonging and resilience.
Sairoz holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria and is known for her unwavering dedication to giving back. She thrives on building partnerships and driving programs that uplift vulnerable populations and strengthen community supports.

Simran Dhot

Simran Dhot

Secretary

Simran Dhot is a Human Resources professional with over six years of experience working in the public sector. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Diploma in Human Resources, providing her with a strong foundation in organizational management, people operations, and systems-based thinking.
Throughout her career, Simran has been committed to strengthening organizational systems while placing people at the centre of her work. She is passionate about giving back to the community and believes in creating meaningful, lasting impact through thoughtful policy, compassionate leadership, and inclusive practices.
Guided by a people-first approach, Simran seeks opportunities where she can use her skills to create meaningful impact, support survivors of violence, and help build stronger, more inclusive, and resilient communities.

Join our Board of Directors at VLMFSS!

Vancouver & Lower Mainland Multicultural Family Support Services Society (VLMFSS) is looking for individuals to serve on its Board of Directors. VLMFSS’ Board provides high-level strategic direction and performance oversight to the organization to ensure clients and stakeholders are well-served.

Based in Burnaby, VLMFSS is a non-profit organization committed to providing culturally responsive support services to racialized immigrant women and individuals in Metro Vancouver to help navigate social/ legal systems and transition to safety and a life free of violence.

All Director terms are 3 years. The Board strives to recruit diverse, inclusive individuals reflective of the communities that it serves.

Currently, we are seeking two candidates with expertise in the following areas:

Treasurer / Finance & Audit Committee Lead
– We seek a financial professional with experience in finance, accounting, or financial management to serve as Treasurer and chair the Finance & Audit Committee.
– Please specify your relevant qualifications, certifications, and experience with nonprofit budgeting and financial oversight. Prior board or nonprofit financial experience is an asset, but not a requirement.
– The Finance & Audit Committee oversees budgeting, financial reporting, and annual audits/reviews

Governance & Nominating Committee Member
– We seek dedicated individuals with availability to contribute to governance and board nomination efforts.
– Ideal candidates will have experience with board recruitment, governance, organizational leadership, or human resources.
– Please describe your relevant experience and confirm your monthly availability to commit to these responsibilities
