Welcome to the Enhancing Wellness- M4Y project, a groundbreaking 5-year research initiative led by the Vancouver and Lower Mainland Multicultural Family Support Services Society (VLMFSS). Generously funded by the Ministry of Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness Canada, this project aims to delve into the unique challenges faced by immigrant women and youth who have experienced violence and abuse during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our mission : to identify the profound impacts of these experiences on the emotional wellness of immigrant women and youth and, in turn, develop and enhance support systems tailored to their specific needs. Through a comprehensive approach, the Enhancing Wellness-M4Y project strives to be a catalyst for positive change and resilience within diverse immigrant communities.
Project Timeline: The Enhancing Wellness-M4Y project, based in British Columbia, is scheduled to run for five years, with a projected completion date in 2028. Throughout this period, we are committed to diligently advancing our research, engaging with communities, and developing impactful resources that foster emotional wellness and resilience.
As we embark on this transformative journey, we invite you to stay connected with VLMFSS for regular updates on the Enhancing Wellness-M4Y project. Together, we can build a stronger, more supportive community for immigrant women and youth, promoting emotional wellness and thriving beyond adversity.
